Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”
